Triple/Multi Shaft Dispersers

Wahal introduced the Triple/Multi Shaft Dispersers which is widely used in multiple applications such that cream, lotion, food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. It’s having the qualities of multi function mixer at the single interval of time. Single shaft emulsifier mixer faces a lot of problems in the case of highly viscous material i.e., during the mixing localized heating occur between the blades and mixing product is inefficient. Deformation also occurs in a material product due to the intense force achieved by the single shaft mixer. Then, the multi shaft mixer is introduced to the high viscosity mixing applications.

Multi- shaft Mixer advantages over the single shaft emulsifier mixer is that having a vacuum mixing and material easily mix and kept the whole process in a closed system.The design of multi shaft mixer consist of two or more independently driven agitators working in tandem which dispersed solid fine particles and sufficient heating and cooling.

Wahal Engineers designed the multi-shaft mixer in a variety of configurations, as either dual shaft mixers or triple shaft mixers depending on batch operation.

How is it works ?

  • In a multi shaft mixer, materials are mixed under laminar condition rather than turbulent mixing. It works in slow speed of a shaft or slow RPM.
  • The high viscous product is pushed into the working zone of the high shear blade and lower shear blade that mixed, dispersed and dissolves the materials.
  • Teflon scrapers available in the mixing unit which cleans the mixer walls during operation and helps to reduce the wastage of materials and improve the mixing product quality and aids in heat transfer to an external jacket.
